Buhari Vows To Crush Pipeline Vandals Like He Did Boko Haram

President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday in Beijing warned vandals and saboteurs blowing up oil and gas installations in Nigeria to desist immediately or face the same drastic action being taken against extremist Boko Haram sect by the Armed Forces.

Speaking at a meeting with members of the Nigerian Community in China, President Buhari also reaffirmed his total commitment to winning the war against corruption, saying that corruption was an arch-enemy of the nation which has destroyed the lives of many Nigerians.

“I ask for your support to make our vision of stamping out corruption a reality in the shortest possible time. Whoever is caught will not be spared,” Femi Adesina, special adviser on media and publicity, quoted the president as saying.

“The government is still being dared, but those who are sensible should have learnt a lesson. Those who are mad, let them continue in their madness.

“I am aware that in the last two weeks, the national grid collapsed a number of times. I hope this message will reach the vandals and saboteurs who are blowing up pipelines and installations.

“We will deal with them the way we dealt with Boko Haram.”

President Buhari assured the Nigerian Community that the Federal Government was working very hard to overcome current national challenges and deliver on its promise of a better Nigeria.

“Clearly, our vision of a diversified and inclusive economy will not be achieved overnight. It will be a long, and in some cases, painful journey. I am very confident we will get there. But we must start that journey now.

“We hear proposals for short cuts or quick wins. However, all we need to do is look at our history to know that there are no quick wins or short cuts in fixing Nigeria. The many decades of damage and destruction cannot be repaired overnight.

“The reform program we are implementing is not because oil prices are below $45 per barrel today. It is because when oil prices were over $100 per barrel, majority of Nigerians were still suffering. They were simply forgotten and left behind. So, our reforms are to ensure that the majority of Nigerians are not left behind,” the President told the gathering.

President Buhari also assured the Nigerian community that his administration was fulfilling its promise of improving security across the country.

“When we came into office in 2015, Boko Haram insurgents occupied 14 Local Government Areas. Today, I am pleased to say the insurgents have been routed out of these local governments and their capacity to fight as a force has been significantly degraded.

“We will continue working hard to ensure that the group is eliminated. This is achievable. And we will not settle for anything less,” he said.

What You Need To Know About The Currency Swap Agreement Between Nigeria/china by FWJOBSNG

As a way of finding solutions to the current currency slump in Nigeria, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd (ICBC) and Nigeria’s Central Bank have signed a deal on Yuan transactions. Recently, many Nigerians have found it exceedingly difficult to pay for services like education and healthcare in other countries, due to the weak Naira, and this deal is an attempt to resuscitate the currency.

Reuters reports that the director general of the African affairs department of China’s foreign ministry, Lin Songtian, said the deal meant the Yuan will flow freely around Nigerian banks and will even be included in the country’s foreign exchange reserves. This deal is one of the outcomes of the meetings between Presidents Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria and Xi Jinping of China, during the Nigeria-China Business/Investment Forum in Beijing, China.

Aside from the financial investments China has made in agriculture and infrastructure in Nigeria, the deal will provide a way for both countries to settle trade agreements in the Yuan. It appears that President Buhari is determined to transform Nigeria into an exporting country as opposed to a primarily consuming one, saying it is high time the country started exporting to China.

However, this is the not the first time Nigeria has made attempts to include the Yuan into its foreign exchange reserves.

In 2011, under the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria at the time, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, a small percentage of the country’s foreign reserves were in the Chinese Yuan. At the time, Nigeria’s $32 billion in reserves were 79 percent in dollars with the rest largely held in Euros and Swiss francs.

Bloomberg reports that Sanusi was cited saying the decision came because the Nigerian financial sector had a lot of confidence in the Chinese currency. “Confidence in China doesn’t mean lack of confidence in America. Europe and America will continue to be important parts of the world. Having said that, it will be almost living in a dream world to ignore China. It’s the second-largest economy in the world and it’s well managed,” Sanusi said.

In 2014, Central Bank’s deputy governor, Kingsley Moghalu, said the bank was looking to increase the percentage of Yuan foreign reserves in its possession from 2 percent to 7 percent. According to him, 85 percent of its foreign reserves were in dollars and it needed to have more in Chinese Yuan, as the country was taking a more important place in global trade. “It was clear to us that the future of international economics and trade will shift in large part to business with and by China. Ultimately the renminbi (Yuan) is likely to become a global convertible currency,” Moghalu said.

Now, the question is, will this integration of the Yuan help to shore up the Naira as intended by the president? The answer lies in the tentative decision that African countries are taking to dump the US Dollar as the prevailing currency in their foreign reserves. Since 2014, the world market has recognised the Yuan as a likely global reserve currency, a replacement for the dollar, which has led countries like Ghana, South Africa and Zimbabwe to integrate the renminbi (Yuan) into their financial markets. As a result of this, trade (however imbalanced) has increased between certain countries on the continent and China, as well as providing a fertile ground for demand for the currency on the continent.

10 Signs A Lady Will Definitely Become A Runs Girl by tosyne2much

Without wasting time, here are the attributes showing that a lady will end up becoming a runs girl.

1. She greedily depends on Guys for money

The reality is that when a lady is evolving into a runs girl, she will have such low respect for herself and greed for more money so that she can go shopping for a bunch of useless crap such as shoes, clothes, wristwatch, etc, to the extent that she will be willing to LovePeddler herself out just to satisfy her excessive desires

2. She receives phone calls every now and then

Even though a lady is not a runs girl but the moment she keeps receiving calls from various men not for business purpose but for a date then it means that she's gradually becoming a runs girl. Some of these ladies even pride themselves based on the number of calls they receive daily from guys.

3. She never appreciates little Gifts

A young lady who never appreciates little gifts is an ingrate and therefore has a great chance of becoming a runs girl. Just when you send recharge N100 card to a lady and she calls to bash you that is that what your mates are giving as a gift? Be rest assured that she will soon become a wayward girl

4. She's very Lazy

Like my lecture always says that laziness is the route to all evil. The moment a lady is too lazy to read or work towards making her own money then it shows she's most likely to become a runs girl.

5. She often begs for recharge card

Another sign that a lady is gradually becoming a runs girl is that she never buys recharge card or subscribe for data bundle but always deem it as guys responsibility. Yesterday, a lady in my villa was bragging that she can never use her money to buy a phone, recharge cards or subscribe data bundle when there are guys at the beak of her finger to take such responsibility. Smh

6. She Keeps more than one Boyfriend

In as much as ladies enjoy the thrill of the chase by guys but when it gets into her head that she starts having more than one boyfriend, then it clearly shows she will soon become LovePeddler. Some even keep more than three boyfriends e.g one na sugar daddy, the second one na sex machine while the one na handkerchief...e.t.c

7. Posting irrelevant pictures on social media

Another sign of an intending runs girl is that she's so much concerned about her body, hence, posting irrelevant pictures every now and then on BBM, facebook, whatsapp and the likes for people's validation on how she looks. In fact, when it becomes a point of duty for a lady to upload more than five pictures a day, then it shows she will definitely become a runs girl. Some of them dey our BBM list

8. Multiple piercing of Ear

Whether you agree with me or not, when a lady pierces up to three holes on the ear after which she fills them with earrings dangling from east to west and north to south, then this is an indication that she's gradually becoming a runs girl

9. Bleaching

When a young lady starts bleaching, be rest assured that she's on her way to becoming a runs girl. Some of them will lie that it's their real colour that is coming out due to good feeding and exercise. Smh

10. She bashes a broke dude

I had a serious argument with a lady few days ago when she said she can't imagine herself dating her fellow student (imagine, an 100l student claiming she can't imagine herself dating a 400l student let alone her course mate). Meanwhile, na married men dis girl dey parole with oooooo... Any lady is with this ideology will definitely end up becoming a runs girl.

I drop my pen at this point

Port Harcourt Refinery Begins Production Again – NNPC

Nigeria has restarted the Port Harcourt refinery, which has a capacity of 210,000 barrels a day, a spokesman for state oil firm NNPC said on Wednesday, as the OPEC member seeks to end fuel shortages.

“It is not in full capacity. Production is between three and five million litres daily,” spokesman Garba Deen Muhammad said. Work resumed last week.

Despite being Africa’s largest crude exporter, Nigeria imports almost all of its gasoline. Dollar shortages and the shutdown of its refineries have for weeks left motorists queuing for petrol across the West African nation.

NNPC said this month it planned to restart its 110,000-barrel-per-day refinery in the northern city of Kaduna by mid-April.

Nigeria has a refining capacity of 445,000 barrels per day from three refinery companies but they have been mostly shut due to years of neglect and corruption.

Last month, Minister of State for Petroleum Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu said Nigeria was in talks with oil companies Chevron, Total and ENI seeking help to revamp the ailing refineries.

Kachikwu Brokers IPMAN Peace Deal

Determined to end the persistent fuel scarcity in the country, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu has waded into the lingering crises within the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).

In an unprecedented move that saw the Minister invite all stakeholders within the IPMAN hierarchy to his office at the NNPC Towers, Abuja, the Minister raised a 14-man committee and charged them with the task of doing everything possible “to bring back peace to the association at the national, zonal and depot levels.”

He noted that as critical stakeholders in the downstream sector, the contribution of IPMAN is crucial in the drive to end the prevailing fuel supply situation across the nation.

The Minister, who called on all members to see IPMAN as one indivisible entity, also charged them to work with relevant government agencies such as the NNPC, DPR and other stakeholders to ensure that the prevailing fuel scarcity “becomes a thing of the past as quickly as possible.”
Speaking shortly after the successful deliberations, the National Secretary of IPMAN, Alh. Danladi Pasali expressed their readiness to assist the Federal Government towards bringing a lasting solution to the fuel situation in the country within the next two weeks as stated by Dr. Kachikwu during a recent meeting with the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream.

The Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources had assured the Senate Committee that the lingering fuel crisis will be over within the next two weeks.

Aligning IPMAN with this objective, Pasali stated thus: “In the spirit of reconciliation and patriotism, we have resolved to forget our differences and work together towards providing products to our various stations across the country in order to ease the hardship on Nigerians.
He added that IPMAN, which controls a massive chunk of the market share in the nation’s downstream sector, will mandate its stations to operate a 24 hour service in order to ease the hardship on Nigerians.

Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. Augustine Erhabor, another top IPMAN executive commended the Minister for his efforts towards bringing lasting peace within the association, a development he described as “a new dawn in IPMAN.”

He informed that IPMAN will set up teams to monitor products distribution and deliveries at all their outlets nationwide even as he assured that all their members will get their products at official ex-depot price so that they can sell at government approved price to Nigerians.

According to him, IPMAN will liaise with the NNPC Management to facilitate the quick loading of about 7, 000 outstanding products tickets for onward dispensing into the hinterland across the country.

He called on members of the public to refrain from hoarding and panic buying, assuring that in no distant future, the fuel queues will vanish.

“All of us in IPMAN are united and I want to assure Nigerians that this unity will help us see the end of this prevailing situation’’, Erhabor said.
Members of the 14-man reconciliation committee set up by the Minister are: Alh. Danladi Pasali, Barrister Dibu Aderigbe, Alh. Abubakar Maigandi, Alh. Hemmed Fashola, Dr. Leo Nkememe, Hon. Chukwudi Fred Ezinwa and Chief Ben Odjugo.

Others are Chief Andrew Ashiga, Igwe Ezekwesili Maduaguna, Dr. Emma Ihedigbo, Comrade M. A. Shettima, Mr. Augustine Erhabor, Prince I. Dunuje and Engr. Lawson Ngoa.

Boko Haram Releases New Video, Says ‘no Negotiations, No Surrender’

Boko Haram released a new video Friday denying any suggestions it would surrender, just over a week after their shadowy leader Abubakar Shekau appeared in a rare message looking dejected and frail.
Shekau, who was not seen on camera for more than a year, released an unverified video late last month and said his time in charge of the Nigerian jihadist group may be coming to an end.
If the video indeed depicts Shekau, he appears thin and listless, delivering his message without his trademark fiery rhetoric.
It prompted speculation from the army that the Islamist group was on the verge of collapse in the face of a sustained military counter-insurgency.
However, in Friday’s message, Boko Haram maintained it was a potent fighting force, with fighters posing with AK-47s in front of Toyota Hilux pick-up trucks and a lorry mounted with a military cannon.
“You should know that there is no truce, there is no negotiations, there is no surrender,” an unidentified masked man wearing camouflage said in a prepared script in Hausa, in the video posted on YouTube.
“This war between us will not stop.”
The video, which was of markedly better quality than Shekau’s and included Arabic subtitles, featured nine masked Boko Haram fighters standing on sandy ground in an undisclosed desert location.
It is unclear if the masked people in the video include the Boko Haram leader.
Shekau was still the head of the “West African wing”, said the masked man in the video, likening Boko Haram to the Islamist insurgencies in Iraq, Libya and Syria.
In March 2015, Boko Haram pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, another of the world’s most deadly terror organisations.
But there were few signs Boko Haram — now styled as Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) — has so far benefited from the partnership.
Nigeria’s army has since then won back swathes of territory from the militants, liberating thousands living under Boko Haram control.
An estimated 20,000 people have been killed since Boko Haram began its campaign of violence in 2009 to carve out a hardline Islamic state in northeast Nigeria.
More than 2.6 million people have fled their homes since then but some of the internally displaced have begun returning.

Save Lives First In Emergency - Adewole, Health Minister To Hospitals

Health Minister Prof Isaac Adewole, Friday directed tertiary hospitals across the country to save patients’ lives first during emergency cases before demanding for money.
Adewole, spoke during a facility tour of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), said people’s lives were more important than the money being demanded before treatment.
According to him, accidents, among other emergency cases can occur at anytime, so patients should not be refrained from accessing treatment.
Adewole advised hospitals not to allow patients stay beyond a day at the Accident and Emergency (A and E) ward to enable them have room for other new patients on emergency.
He urged LUTH management to ensure that the poor receive treatment, stressing that the hospital should operate a social system to enable it know those that are genuinely poor.
“We cannot continue to turn poor patients away from the hospitals. The poverty indicator shows that 60 to 70 percent of Nigerians is poor. This means about 100 million people are poor in Nigeria. So, we will provide basic care through the primary health care (PHC) system for Nigerians,” he said.
He lamented poor funding of the health care, saying there was chronic underfunding of the sector.
Moreover, Nigerians and the media should take the fight to increase health budget to the front burner because health is wealth. “The sick cannot make the country strong,” the minister said.
He charged patients with minor ailments to visit primary health care (PHC) centres rather than going to teaching hospitals.
Prof Adewole said Nigeria needs 140 radiotherapy machines, adding that the seven machines now available were inadequate.
“Only two or three presently work at a time. Poor power supply has marred our effort to keep the machines running regularly. If power improves, the equipment will last longer,” he said.
He charged people to improve their lifestyle, exercise and eat healthily.
Besides, they should have regular checkups.
“Many late cancer cases cannot be cured
